What is the difference between translucent, decorative and blackout curtains?

The difference lies in the function, the materials used and their properties.

Translucent curtains are usually made of thin, sparsely woven materials, so light easily penetrates between the fibers. In terms of its function, it dresses up the space, decorates it with its pattern, and complements the interior.

The decor materials are usually thin, densely woven textiles that partially block the light and protect from prying eyes. With their pattern and color, they greatly add to the atmosphere and style of the space. In general, we can also use them as other decorative textiles, such as decorative pillows, bedspreads, table runners.

Blackout curtains are densely woven, usually thicker, heavier fabrics, which, thanks to their good light-blocking properties, provide privacy and darkness in the room. In many cases, they are plain or slightly patterned.

In terms of colors, there is a great variety and possibility of variation. Choose colors that suit your style and the mood of the interior. Definitely something we feel good about!

In general, for all types of curtains, it can be said that they reduce the echo and bring a warm, homely feeling to the interior.

What is the difference between Dimout and Blackout?

Blackout curtains can be divided into two parts, the so-called Blackout and Dimout types.

We call blackout blinds that have an acrylic coating applied to their backside after weaving. It is this coating that prevents light from entering and makes the room completely dark. This coating typically consists of three layers, a white layer, a black layer, and another white layer.

Dimout materials are also used for darkening, but their light transmittance is typically lower.

Here, the darkening function is achieved with a special three-layer weaving structure during production, one weft of which contains black, voluminous fibers. During weaving, minimal gaps are created between the individual threads of the weft and the chain, thanks to which the sun's rays can find a place to enter the apartment.

The color of the product also plays a role in darkening, the darker the fabric, the more dye, the better it protects against light.

Does a Blackout curtain darken the room?

Blackout is a special fabric that completely blocks the light coming from outside.

Thanks to the appropriate structure and thickness of the fabric, it ensures complete peace of mind for the private sphere.

In addition to the light-blocking property of the blackout fabric, it also has a heat-retaining property, so it can maintain a pleasant warmth or even a cooler temperature in the given room. In addition, it also filters incoming noise from outside.

It is a perfect choice for rooms facing south or east, close to noisy streets or overlooking pubs and music clubs.
